Personal Finance 2

This is a continuation of Personal Finance I. Part 2 is more in-depth on issues such as credit, renting or buying a home, buying or leasing an auto, planning special events, business etiquette, insurance, and estate planning. Finance II students take field trips which further enhance the curriculum. Field trips have included local banks, investment firms, for sale homes with realtors, and an insurance office. Experts are frequently brought in to discuss financial issues with the students. Students also participate in a book study of "The Automatic Millionaire". The course also prepares students to compete in the Finance Challenge offered each March where students are eligible to win cash prizes.

Students are responsible for completing a total of four article reviews related to the themes covered in the course. The students may substitute interviews of professionals/experts in fields directly related to the themes for two of the article reviews. A list of professionals will be provided to the student for each theme.

Themes: Credit, Investing, Renting or Buying a Home, Buying or Leasing an Auto, Planning Special Events, Business Etiquette, Insurance, and Estate Planning.
